Christians Urged To Evangelize
By Chris F Pewu
A Liberian cleric, Rev. Moses W. Wheigar of the Harvest Bible Chapel in Paynesville, wants Christianity to be visible in the communities across Liberia, urging Christians to evangelize with seriousness.
In an interview Sunday after a worship service, Rev. W Wheigar said, the churches should not only be preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ but rather meeting the needs of people by providing shelters, food, clothes and others; the man of God added that failure to do such, could undermine the progress of the work of God. According to him, some preachers were spreading the Gospel without seeking the interest of the people who they are preaching to, something the Man of God has frown on seriously.
Rev. Wheigar, however used this medium to call on all pastors, elders, mothers etc to do away with such habit and embrace people in their communities, in whatever they do in an effort to advance the Gospel without hindrance.
During the outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), Harvest Bible Chapel was amongst humanitarian and faith-based organizations that provided humanitarian services.
Meanwhile, in another development, a six member delegation from the United States of America is visiting the local Church at its invitation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Elder Kevin Korhorn and Pastor Nathan Scroggins, both members of the USA Branch of the Harvest Bible Chapel, said their mission in the country was to restore happiness in the faces of Liberians after the devastating EVD.
