Mayor Koijee meets with the Mayor of Accra, Ghana
As part of his international outreach, the Mayor of Monrovia Jefferson T. Koiee on Friday April 20, 2018 met the Mayor of Accra, Ghana Adjei Sowah M. to discuss among other things development issues and sister -city-relationship.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Accra expressed delight for meeting a youthful Mayor like Koijee and appreciates President George Weah for appointing such a youthful and charismatic young Mayor and scores of young people in government. He said, ” You are a great young man with a great prospect, I have been following your activities over the years as a political party youth leader and now the Mayor of the City of Monrovia”.
He admonished that this is a clear opportunity for the young people on the continent to take charge of the leadership of their respective countries .
“You are very passionate about your country” , he said.
Mayor Adjei Sowah expressed that it’s a great honor to receive Mayor Koijee and promised to work with him in promoting sister –city relationship between Accra and Monrovia.
He further mentioned that he along with Mayor Koijee can organize the West African Mayors association in order to have a West African voice with one platform among the other African Mayors.
For his part, Mayor Koijee commended the Accra Mayor for the warm welcome and appreciate him for the hard work in making Accra one of the beautiful cities in Africa; a feat he believed that Monrovia can achieve with such a great relationship.
He said ” Just a short request, you accepted to meet me, I must appreciate and with such an admiration I am optimistic that we can achieve in making Monrovia Clean, Green and safe.”
He intimated that his quest to make Monrovia one of the cleanest cities in Africa is a dream that he can’t achieve without modeling ideas from Accra, Kigali and others cities in Africa .
Accra is among the best cities in Africa to live with classic bars, restaurants, shopping malls and night clubs. It also has a flourishing real estate sector, little wonder it has become a favorite vacation destination for Nigerians and others neighboring countries.
