Media Practitioners Establish Network To Promote Food Security, Nutrition

A group of Liberian Journalists have established an association to promote food security and nutrition through journalism, regular reportage and awareness programs.
The Association, known as “Food Security and Nutrition Reporters Association (FOSENRAL), was established on Wednesday in Monrovia, at the close of a two-day workshop organized by the World Food Program.The Workshop was organized to train journalists on how to adequately report on food and nutrition security.
A six-member interim management team comprising journalists from different media outlets was set up to steer the affairs of the organization for six months.
They include: Judomue Kollie of Daily Observer, Chair; Ruth Bridgett Milton of New Dawn, Vice Chair; and Lincoln Barcon of the Inquirer Newspaper, Secretary General, as well as Nwelt Mathies of the New Democrat Newspaper, Assistant Secretary.
The established journalists association will place special emphasis on resilience, school meals management, nutrition intervention, and logistics operations within the framework of global communications modules and approaches.
