Security at the Temple of Justice has arrested and turned over to the Liberia National Police (LNP), one Sam Marshall who stated that he is a temple Justice Security personnel with the rank of a colonel, for duping one Madam Lovette Karneh, a resident of Logan Town Community an amount of USD$1,100.
Making the disclosure when he was interrogated by the Temple of Justice security in the office of the Montserrado County Attorney Cllr. Daku Mulbah, on Thursday, April 26, Mr. Marshall admitted that he took the money from Lovette Karneh to be used for releasing her brother (name withheld), from jail.Mr. Marshall however tried to implicate the County Attorney’s office, by telling investigators that he was able to convince the woman to give him the money by telling her that he was working at the Temple of Justice security with the rank of a colonel in the office of the County Attorney.
He also said that if given the money, he will use to see various people to ensure the release of her brother, the convicted killer who was serving life sentence at the Monrovia Central prison compound after he was found guilty of killing one Madam Sianneh, the mother of Counselor Arthur Johnson’s son at the Bomi charcoal base sometimes ago.
Madam Karneh noted that the victim, Madam Sianneh was a charcoal seller who used to sell charcoal for her at the Rally Time Market.
But days after the transaction had occurred, she observed that her relative cannot be released from the central prison as promised by Mr. Marshall, and hence decided to visit the county Attorney’s office to explain the transaction.
However when she got there, Cllr Mulbah told her that the defendant in question has never interacted with him on such an issue nor is he an employee at his office at the Temple of Justice.
He then immediately instructed his office security to call the Liberia National Police to arrest Mr. Marshall at his residence and bring him to his office, where he also invited the press to gather statements from him before he was later turned over to the Police for further investigations.
