Government To Upgrade WestPoint
– Acting Commissioner Dennis Discloses

The Acting Commissioner of the Township of WestPoint, Mr. William Tamba Dennis has disclosed that as a mandate from His Excellency, President George Manneh Weah, the citizens of the township will not be relocated.
Speaking to PUBLIC AGENDA in an exclusive interview at his Westpoint office on June 3, 2018, Commissioner Dennis emphasized that the government of Liberia under the good leadership of President Weah has no intention to have the citizens of the township relocated, adding that government’s plan is to have the area upgraded to an advanced level.According to him, the upgrading of the township has been discussed in many meetings that they have attended with the National Housing Authority (NHA) management.
He used the occasion to congratulate the CRS for carrying out renovation work on the three major bathrooms within the township.
According to him, “this is going to help them prevent the citizens to stop using the beaches as a place for going to toilet”.
The Township acting Commissioner emphasized that the renovation of the three major bath rooms is also going to help reduce the sanitation problem they have been faced with over the years.
Acting Commissioner Dennis added that since he took over the township in 2017, he has been able to have many things under control, noting that he enjoys working with his people.
Commissioner Dennis emphasized that for the duration of his tenure as a worker within the township, there had been cordial working relationships with the entire population of the township administration including the elder’s council and the town council.
According to him, they are knocking at the doors of goodwill organizations in the country to help them increase the toilet facilities within the township.
He used the occasion to appeal to the citizens of the township to make use of the public toilets rather than use the beaches for toileting.
