CBL Governor Resigns
-Pres. Weah Accepts Weeks’ Resignation
Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), J. Milton Weeks has resigned amid inflation and economic collapse underpinned by unregulated exchange rate between the US and Liberian dollars.
President George Manneh Weah has received and accepted the resignation of the Executive Governor of the CBL. According to an Executive Mansion dispatch, the Liberian leader has commended Weeks for his service to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavors; the dispatch also noted that a successor to Governor Weeks would be announced shortly.
In a related development, the President has lauded Madam Elfrieda Stewart-Tamba for successfully ending her tenure as Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).Madam Tamba’s tenure officially ended on Saturday June 30, 2018.
