Rep. Saah Joseph, Dr. Tokpah Elected In Senatorial By-Election

Final Results in the July 31, 2018 Senatorial by-elections announced by the Chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC) Counselor Jerome George Korkoyah states that out of 7 candidates who contested the senatorial by-elections in Montserrado County, Rep. Saah Hardy Joseph scored the highest votes and therefore winner in Montserrado county.He also announced that out of 5 candidates who contested for the vacant position of Senator of bong County, Prof. Henrique Tokpah an independent candidate got the highest votes and thus declared senator for Bon County.
It can be recalled that when preliminary results were coming from Montserrado County and Bong County respectively, the Montserrado County district#13 Reprsentative, Saah H. Joseph of trhe ruling CDC was leading in the poll amongst all of the candidates while in Bong County, Dr. Henrique FlomoTokpa was in full control over all of the candidates.
Opinion poll on the first day of the election, shows that Representative Saah H. Joseph the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Senatorial candidate was in the lead with results coming from all of the centers while in Bong County, Independent candidate, Dr. Henry Tokpawas making the same headway.
On the day of the election there was no violence reported by the National Election Commission (NEC) in Montserrado and Bong County respectively.
In Montserrado and Bong Counties there werehowever very low turnouts on the day of the election done by eligible voters.
Some of the eligible voters were saying they are not going to vote for a person to make the person rich at the end of the day,while they go to bed without food.
The voters further said that they voted for current leaders of this government, some of them today can take telephone to call them.
The July 31, 2018 election is seen as a sign to show current officials of this government to begin now to put their houses in order.
