Kateh Commends Salayea District
-For US$80k Health Facility
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Liberia, Dr. Francis Kateh, has commended the people of Kpayakolleh Town, Salayea District in Lofa County for constructing a health facility valued US$80,000.
Kateh said the money was provided to the people of Kpayakolleh Town by a logging company operating in the area in fulfillment of an agreement reached between the company and the town.Kateh, who just returned to Monrovia following a two-week tour in Lofa County, described the initiative of the town as “a huge task” intended to complement government’s intervention in the health sector of Liberia.
The CMO told reporters in Monrovia on Wednesday that he was privileged to dedicate the US$80,000 health facility during his tour when he made a stop in Kpayakolleh Town, Lofa County.
Kateh disclosed that he also visited the Curran Hospital in Zorzor District, Telewoyan Hospital in Voinjama, Kolahun Health Center and met with health workers in Vahun where a surgery room is currently being constructed by the residents.
According to the CMO, he assured the people of the Town of government’s commitment to equip the operation room upon its completion.
Kateh noted that he also visited Foya District where a health center was constructed through the initiative of the late Representative Eugene Fallah Kparkar.
Meanwhile, Kateh has assured health workers in the county of government’s continued support in seeking the welfare of healthcare providers across the country.
