Liberia To Participate In Intra-African Trade Fair In Cairo
The President of Liberia Chamber of Commerce, J. Wendell Addy, has disclosed that Liberia will from December 11-17 participate in the Intra-African Trade Fair scheduled
to be held in Cairo, Egypt.
Making the disclosure at a news conference over the weekend, Addy pointed out that the purpose of the event is to engage with key industries and government players in each region and spread the word about the first Intra-African Trade Fair.He used the occasion to call on Liberians and foreign residents to rally around producers of locally-made products in order to put them on the map during the pending trade fair.
According to him, the Intra-African Trade Fair is expected to bring together continental and global players to showcase and exhibit their goods and services so as to explore business and investment opportunities for countries that are expected to be part of the event.
For his part, Commerce Minister Wilson Tarpeh lauded the Liberia Chamber of Commerce for bringing Liberian entrepreneurs together in a bid to compete with foreign counterparts.
Professor Tarpeh assured local producers of the government’s support in their drive to put Liberia on the map globally.
Also making remarks, the president of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), James M. Strophe, extolled the efforts of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce for establishing cordial relationship with stakeholders by making sure that Liberia’s home-made products are graded internationally, assuring his organization’s support in achieving its goal.
