Koijee Fulfills Promises
The Mayor of Monrovia City, Jefferson T. Koijee on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 donated a cheque of One Thousand United States Dollars (US$1000.00) , and Fifteen (15) pieces of fans, 32inche flat screen Television to the Student Council Government through the School’s administration of the Seku Ibrahim Sheriff High School (SIS) in J.J.Y.Gardnersville.Presenting the items at a well-attended ceremony held on the campus of the school, the Administrative Assistant to the Monrovia City Major, Mohammed M. Bamba Jr. said, “the donation was in fulfillment of Mayor Koijee’s commitment during the inauguration of the Student Council Government while serving as keynote speaker on February 14, 2019”.
He told the School administrators that the Monrovia City Major has plan to continue providing assistance to the school in his effort to ensure that the school becomes the best in Monrovia.
According to him, the Monrovia City Major was deeply concerned about the education of Liberian youth as such, he was willing and committed to helping all youth in any way possible to provide assistance.
Mr. Bamba however, encouraged the school administration to establish a sanitation club in an effort to improve and keep Monrovia clean and greencampaign.
He also noted that the 32 inch Television along with a set of Satcon should be used in the kindergarten class where instructors can physically show some of those things taught in class to school going kids in the nursery and elementary .
Mr. Bamba also announced to the student body that, the president of the Seku Ibrahim School student council Government, Musa Kromah had being incorporated as member of the Federation of the Liberia Youth (FLY) .
Receiving the items on behalf of the Student Council Government, the School Principal Mr. VarmuyanSekou Sheriff, lauded Mayor Koijee for the gesture and promised to use the items wisely for its intended purpose.
Mr. Sheriff said, he was grateful that Mayor Koijee didn’t exhibit the usual behavior of Liberian politicians who make empty promises.
He lamented that the youthful Mayor is truly the representation and the leader of the new breed of young people of Liberia .
Mr. Sheriff also encouraged Mayor Koijee to continue to work in the best interest of the young people of Liberian mainly, school going kids.
He said, the administration of the Seku Ibrahim Sherriff Elementary, Junior and Senior High School was committed in its drive to continually providing sound and quality education for all students.
For his part, Student Council Government president, Musa Kromah said, the Lord Mayor’s donation was exceptional and worth commendation.
Kromah noted that he was overwhelmed with joy not just for the cheque and items, but for the Lord Mayor acceptance of the school’s invitation to serve as keynote Speaker without hesitation.
Meanwhile, Kromah cautioned fellow students to see Mayor Koijee as a role model and a true believer of what he says.He promised to use the items and cash for their intended purpose.
