VP-Taylor Donates Cartoons Of Assorted Books To CNDRA
-Says Education Is Key To The Development Of Any Nation
Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor says education is a benchmark of democracy and development of any nation particularly Liberia.
She noted that a nation that is not educated remains a backward country, noting that quality education is the beginning of innovation and growth of any society.
According to her, the distribution of books to the Center for National Documents and Records Agency/National Archives will help provide knowledge for Liberian kids in urban and the rural areas.She made the comments on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 when she donated one hundred cartoons of assorted books to the Center for National Documents and Records Agency to be used for its local library in Ganta City, Nimba County.
While the cost of the donation attached, the books included English, literature and a wide range of readers.
The Liberian vice president however stressed the need for the creation of an Electronic Library system in Liberia.
‘’Really, if you have a computer that has internet, the knowledge you can gain from that is so vast.
It can teach people what to look for, what the new trends are and what the new innovation is ‘she added
Madam Taylor said if Liberia will have to move forward, there are lots to do with the education system and sever other sectors.
Receiving the cartoons of assorted books, the Center for National Documents and Records Agency Director General C. Neileh Daitouah thanked Jewel Howard-Taylor for the gesture and promised that the books will be used for the intended purpose.
DG Daitouah said the establishment of local libraries will enable people especially in the rural areas to have access to adequate education.
CNDRA Director General intoned that the donation is part of the CDC led government headed by President George Weah commitment to improving and transforming the education sector of the country.

CNDRA is an institution of government that is among others cloth with the statutory mandate to register and process marriage certificate, legal instruments, administrative authorizations and is as well the custodian of all national documents and records.
