Over 21 Official Benefits From Land Right Training
In an effort to implement the land right law of Liberia, an International NGO on Wednesday ended a two day in-service training for 21 personals of the Liberia Land Authority.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency at the closed of training, the Country Representative of LANDESIA DR. Emmanuel Urey said the training was oriented to officials of the Land Authority of on how to draft regulation, develop best practices for regulation and the cost of good implementation.According to Dr. Urey, the training is about building the technical team at the Liberia Land Authority and “21 staffs here today to ensure the implementation and best practices in term of developing regulation around complex issue like land management.
” we see it necessary working together as group to achieve best practice of implementation, because land dispute is one of the challenge people face in the rural and urban area and so if we can get our land right law implemented, we can set a stage for economic growth he added.
He emphasized that they are working along with the Foundation for Community Initiatives (FCI) base in Margibi and others NGO in order to carry land awareness around the counties, noting that the new law which is now called the Land Right Act was signed on September 19, 2018 and printed into handbill on October 10, 2018, and the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) is charge with the responsibility of implementing the Law.
The New Land covers all lands in Liberia including Private, Public, Government and Customary Lands which right to all citizens regardless of custom, ethnicity, tribe as well as religion.
He pointed out “law are only good when they are implemented, so the Land Authority is working hard and we as civil society is helping because this is a hug breeding on them.
