PUL Prexy Recommends Closure Of Two Radio Stations In Monrovia

Press Union of Liberia (PUL) President, Charles Coffey, has recommended to the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism to close down two radio stations operating in Liberia for constant ethical breaches.
Coffey, speaking during the weekend at the induction ceremony of the newly-elected Legislative Press Pool officials, named Roots FM and Freedom FM as radio stations that should be shut down.According to the PUL President, these two radio stations have over the years been constantly using insulting language against leaders of the country.

Coffey frowned on the two Talk Show hosts of these media institutions for constantly breaching the ethical policy of the Press Union of Liberia.

“We hope that we had the power to immediately shut down Roots FM and Freedom FM for their unethical behavior in the Liberian media,” Coffey said.

He hoped that the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism will accept the Union’s recommendation and take action against the two media houses to curb their wanton abuse of media ethics and guidelines.
